As the population of Los Angeles County grows, the need for affordable housing and community amenities continues to grow.
Today we’re taking a look at some of the new and exciting developments that are popping up in this rapidly changing market.1.
The RIVER OAKs apartment complex in River Oaks Apartments, on the corner of Lakewood and Broadway, is one of a handful of developments being built in the L.A. basin, which has been a hotbed of construction activity.2.
A new $15 million apartment complex is scheduled to open this summer on the site of the former RIVEROAK Apartments.
Located at 1065 N. Grand Avenue in the heart of the historic area, the project will include a 350-unit building with studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units.3.
In April, the River Oaks apartment complex was designated as the new “new L. A. neighborhood” for the second time in five years.
The new building will include 2,400 apartments, with a total of 4,000 residents.4.
In July, the RIVEROCAK Apartment in Riverwood, located just off Interstate 405 in the Los Feliz area, was designated a “new neighborhood” by the Los Angeles City Council.
The complex, which will be completed in 2021, will have 6,600 units, including a 1,500-unit luxury rental project with studios and one- and two-bedrooms.5.
A $25 million mixed-use project will be built in Westwood, on Westwood Boulevard near the intersection of La Brea and El Camino Real, near the Los Padres International Airport.
The $10 million project will feature 2,800 apartments, including 2,200 studio and one and two bedroom units.6.
In October, the Riverside Heights apartments complex was officially designated as a new neighborhood by the city.
The project will consist of 1,700 apartments with a combined total of 3,200 units.7.
The Riverwood Apartments complex, located near the end of the La Bream Avenue bridge over the La Fonda River, is slated to open in 2021.
The mixed-used complex will include 1,200 apartments, which are located at the northwest corner of La Fondas Road and La Breaa Avenue.8.
The Riverside Heights Apartments development will feature 1,600 apartments with 2,100 studio and two bedrooms units.9.
The City of L. the Los Angles region is planning to build 2,000 units of affordable housing, with plans to include 600 of these units in Riverside Heights.10.
In November, a new mixed-income apartment complex will open in the Riverwood neighborhood in the center of Los Felizes City, just west of downtown.
The 3,000-unit development, with 1,300 units of mixed- and affordable-income units, will be located on the Riverwoods waterfront, just north of the LACMA Center.11.
The developers of a $50 million development in the historic River Oaks neighborhood, located on South Grand Avenue, announced plans in January to build a mixed-user, mixed-family development in downtown L. America.
The planned project will offer 1,000 affordable units, with 4,600 affordable units available for rent.12.
The developer of a mixed development near the former River Oaks apartments complex in West Los Angeles, which is slated for completion in 2021 on the former Lakewood Avenue, recently announced plans to build 3,600 residential units.
The 7,400-unit project, with 2- and 3-bedroom apartments, is scheduled for completion later this year.13.
A developer of an $80 million development on the south side of the Los Angell Bridge in the Westside neighborhood of West Los Angeles, recently completed a project that will include 5,000 apartment units, making it the largest mixed- or affordable-housing project in L. American.14.
The L. Angeles County Council approved a $3 million bond package for the redevelopment of a former L. Angels landfill, located in the city of Burbank.
The redevelopment project will contain 5,600 rental units, and is located on Lake Avenue in downtown Burbank, just south of the LAX Airport.15.
The Lakewood Apartment project in the City of Westwood has been approved as a “Neighborhood Planner’s Choice.”
The new project will bring together 1,800 units with a mix of studios and two and three bedroom units, along with a new restaurant and entertainment complex.16.
The Westlake Apartments project in West LA is the largest apartment project in Southern California, with an estimated total of 2,700 units and an estimated $75 million budget.
The property is located at 16th Street and Lake Avenue, and the project includes 1,900 rental units with 4- and 5-bedroom studios and three bedrooms.17.
