San Diego-area Airbnb-style apartments are now on the block.
The apartments are available for rent on Airbnb’s website and on the company’s mobile app.
Renters are charged a flat rate for the first month, then a percentage of the apartment’s value.
Airbnb says the apartments will be available for short-term rentals beginning April 5.
The company says the new apartments are the first of its kind in the US, and it says they’re the first such apartment in San Diego.
San Diego has more than 5,300 Airbnb-type apartments, and Airbnb is the second-largest hotel rental platform in the world.
Airbnb has struggled to find a market for its listings, however, and recently closed its San Diego office.
The San Diego apartment program is part of Airbnb’s efforts to bring more guests to the city, according to company spokesperson Alex Schatzberg.
Airbnb said the apartments are intended to be rented as part of an Airbnb-wide program, and that it has not yet determined how many will be sold.
Airbnb’s Austin, Texas-based headquarters also have apartments available to rent.
Airbnb was recently bought by Amazon for $2.5 billion.
